Cleveland Child Care and Early Learning Center Announcement

In recognition of a commitment to quality and an ongoing dedication to the learning and development of children, Cleveland Child Care and Early Learning Center has received a Five- Star Step Up To Quality Award from the state of Ohio.

Step Up To Quality is Ohio’s rating system for learning and development programs.  A Step Up To Quality Five-Star rating means the program has demonstrated the highest level of quality.  Below are some of the ways Cleveland Child Care provides increased quality at a five star level:

• • There are more staff members per child.  Teachers have more time to support your child’s individual development and learning.
• • The administrator and teachers have higher educational qualifications.  The administrator and most teachers have a bachelor’s or master’s degree and many years experience working with young children.
• • The administrator and teachers complete more than 30 hours of specialized training every two years.  The administrator and teaching staff are committed to expanding their education and skills to better support your child’s development and learning.
• • Teachers develop lesson plans that support each child’s growth.  The teachers plan intentional and purposeful activities and experiences that meet the needs, interests and abilities of children and supports them where they are in their development.
• • Teachers complete on-going formal assessments to evaluate and improve learning experiences.  Assessments with your child help keep track of his or her growth over time.
• • Families and the community are valued.  Cleveland Child Care values strong relationships with families and believes in providing the highest quality care to the children and families that we serve by working with neighborhood organizations to provide more opportunities for children.

Research confirms that the first five years of a child’s life have a direct impact on how children develop emotional well being, in addition to learning and social skills. Cleveland Child Care and Early Learning Center serves children from six months to twelve years old with a nurturing child care and quality programs for school age children. The center includes healthy eating options for children and parents, a site based garden that gives children hands on experience with gardening and summer camp and school age programs. Cleveland Child Care and Early Learning Center is proud to work with OSU Extension/Summer Sprout on enhancing the farm to daycare initiative, as well as being recognized as a certified Ohio Healthy program participant.
